Gift Ideas for Young Readers and Writers
A compilation of gifts for your bookish or writerly friends
Bonjour!
Hello, friends! This week I’m so excited to present my list of gift ideas for young writers and readers this holiday season. I’ve broken the gifts down (and linked to them on different websites!) so you can pick and choose the ones you like!

Gifts for Readers:
If you’re looking for a list of fun things for the readers in your life, here’s some ideas!
This sword bookmark looks really cool for the book lovers in your life!
A mug is always a good idea.
Themed socks! I received Harry Potter themed socks with quotes on them, and they lasted me almost all year!
If you like book bags, here’s one that’s super cute.
If your reader likes to listen to music while they read, I’d suggest these bluetooth headphones from Walmart.
If you want a portable bean bag chair for your reader to sit in, I’d suggest this one!
Books for younger readers:
Better With Butter – a middle grade book about a twelve-year-old who worries about everything and the goat that changes her life.
Ferris – a middle grade book about a girl named Ferris and her family the summer before fifth grade.
A Drowned Maiden’s Hair – a middle grade historical fiction book about a girl named Maud, who is adopted by two unlikely women with secrets and forced to figure out a mystery.
Honey Butter – a girl who loves to collect paint cards forms a bond with the new neighbor living next door.
Itch – a hilarious book about how a tween finds a new radioactive element…
Class Action – a boy takes his appeal to ban homework all the way to the Supreme Court.
Books for older readers:
The Swallows’ Flight – a touching WWII book about two girls, two pilots, and the amazing coincidence in which they meet. (Note: it says the book is “Book 2”, but you can read it on its own as well!)
Greetings From Witness Protection! – a teenager goes undercover to save a family from notorious criminals.
The Liars Society – a girl who loves sailing manages to gain access to a prestigious school, much to the dismay of a fellow competitor.
Love and Other Great Expectations – an American soccer player goes to England for a scavenger hunt and meets a bookish British boy.
Echo – four generations find a magical flute at the time they need it most, culminating in a beautiful ending tying them all together.
The Lost Tales of Sir Galahad – a collection of short stories from some of the best writers I’ve ever read about the Arthurian knight Galahad and his search for the Holy Grail.
Gifts For Writers:
Here are some fun ideas for the writers in your life!
These erasable pens are amazing.
This daisy pillow is so cute and comfy for resting against while you’re writing!
I’ve never tried these dice, but they look really cool.
These giant notebooks are amazing. I can write so much in one of them!
These bluetooth headphones are great for writers too.
If your writer likes stickers, I’d suggest starting here.
I, personally, am planning on asking for Unraveled (the brand-new Keeper of the Lost Cities book) and maybe some stickers! The holiday season is always really fun for our family.
I hope these ideas were helpful for you and gave you some ideas on what your friends/children/fellow bookworms/writers would like. Next week, I’ll be sharing a brand-new, exclusive holiday-themed story snippet featuring my characters from my work in progress! I’m so excited to finally give you a peek of my characters, especially so close to the holiday season, so come back next week to see what the story’s about!
