My February 2026 Round Up
- what I did this month -
Hello, friends, and welcome to another Round Up! My February has been super busy and fun. There’s a lot to get into, so let’s get started!
What I’ve Been Reading Recently:
The Magician’s Nephew (Narnia #1) by C.S. Lewis
Quick Plot Summary: Digory Kirke is spending his summer in London with his sick mother, his busy aunt, and his questionable uncle when he meets Polly Plummer. When the two of them meet the empress Jadis and are whisked to a brand new world, they must save the new world from Jadis before it is too late.
This book is fantastic. I’m analyzing it for a writing class this winter, and I love how descriptive Lewis is! I’d definitely recommend this book.
Beauty by Robin McKinley
Quick Plot Summary: When Beauty’s family becomes bankrupt due to the failure of her father’s boat business, they’re forced to move to a remote village where they know almost no one. Beauty is forced to stay in the castle of a Beast after her father accidentally becomes lost in the woods. Though she is trapped for eternity, can Beauty find happiness in her new home and maybe even the Beast himself?
This has been my favorite Beauty and the Beast retelling for years! Beauty is a wonderful narrator, and I always love the attention to detail that Ms. McKinley brings to the story!
What I’ve Been Listening To Recently:
“Gold’s Gone” by Freya Skye talks about growing up and wanting to go back to when times were simpler and familiar. I love the catchy beat and good lyrics!
“Taxland” by Justin Moses and Sierra Hull is one of the fastest songs I’ve ever listened to. It’s incredible how fast these two can play!
A Writing Update:
Unfortunately, I didn’t write as much as last month, because I’ve been super busy this month. But I did pass 40K on my second draft and have gotten to the point where I’m referencing my published short story, Cecil’s Conundrum!
While we’re on the topic of writing, my fellow writer and friend India Johnson released her sixth book, Beneath Wallrok, on Friday! If you’d like to support a bestselling indie author, go check out the book now!
A Life Update:
February has gone by so fast and it’s been so exciting! I started a new writing class, hung out with my friends, watched the Olympics, made two batches of the cookies below because my family couldn’t stop eating them, and listened to lots of good music!
I’d love to know about your adventures in February down below!
