My March 2026 Round Up
- what I did this month -
Hello, friends, and welcome back to the Kindness Cafe! I can’t believe it’s already March. We’ve finally been getting warm weather around here, which I’ve been so excited about. There’s a lot to get into, so let’s get started!
What I’ve Been Reading Recently:
Loki’s Wolves (The Blackwell Pages, #1) by K.L. Armstrong and M.A. Marr
Quick Plot Summary: As a descendant of the Norse god Thor, Matt Thorsen has spent his whole life being the littlest, least impressive member of his family. When he is picked to be a part of a prophecy that will ultimately kill him, he must team up with Fen and Laurie Brekke, kids of Loki, to beat the odds and come out of the encounter unscathed.
This was an excellent book with tons of great Norse mythology! I especially loved the three different POVs and all of the modern twists on Norse gods and culture. It’s part of a series too!
The Firefly Summer by Morgan Matson
Quick Plot Summary: Ryanna Stuart is used to predictability, like spending another summer with her dad and her stepmom. But when a letter arrives from her grandparents, asking her to come to their summer camp, she jumps at the opportunity. She wants to learn more about her mom — who has passed away — and why her dad never lets her see the other side of her family, but when she arrives, she discovers that the camp is on the verge of closing. When she and her cousins discover a treasure map left by her teenage mom, they decide to follow it, even if it’s their only summer to get to know each other before everything changes.
I loved this book. It was exactly the type of book I would have adored as a middle grader, and I’m so glad I read it this month! It was sweet, cozy, and downright hilarious, and it had great stakes as well!
What I’ve Been Listening To Recently:
“Sleepyhead” by Galen Crew was recommended to me by a good friend a few weeks ago, and I can’t stop listening to it! I especially like the poignant lyrics and catchy beat.
“Song for Walking” by Tophouse is one of my family’s favorite songs! I’ve been following Tophouse for a while now, and I love their repertoire, including this catchy, upbeat song. (Lyrics are in the caption!)
A Writing Update:
This month has been so busy, but I managed to get a good amount of writing in! I wrote over 4000 words on Project Royalty in one day, which was really cool! I also hit 50K on the entire rewrite! I’m almost to the halfway point on the story, which I’m happy about — progress is being made.
A Life Update:
A lot has happened in March. I made more cookies (different recipe), which my family liked even better than the old ones, and we had both a snowstorm AND an 80 degree day in the same week. Ah, spring.
I’ve also read some good books this month, including the end of Victor Hugo’s 1200+ page novel Les Miserables! I’m very proud of finishing it.
I’d love to know about your adventures in March down below!
